Today's source of fun is the Motor City. Pre-Covid, the City of Detroit is growing rapidly around it's 142 square miles. With million-dollar condos being built downtown combined with the economic development of the inner city, Detroit is on the rise again. Mayor Mike Duggan along with city officials has opened the city for business.
Since Covid, everything has slowed down but no one can take away from the growth over the past six years. From Little Caesars Arena to five-star restaurants like Parc and Townhouse, Detroit is back baby. Now I could be a little bias because I grew up in the area. But I do remember when Detroit's downtown scene was the River Rock, Saint Andrews, and Belle Isle. With casinos allowing sports betting and many neighborhoods being developed, Detroit is becoming a great place to Eat and Play for years to come.
For out of town people visiting the area this spring and summer after Covid season, here are some spots to swing pass.
Fun and Games
Punch Bowl Social Detroit
Ready Player One
MGM or Greektown Casino
Lodging and Living Spaces

The Lofts of Merchants Row

Detroit also offers great ground transportation services with scooters, city buses, Q-Line, People Movers, Uber, and Lyft. For out-of-town people looking for a quick getaway in the Midwest Detroit is a sleeper pick for great places to visit. If gambling and partying isn't your thing, just come visit the birthplace of Motown and R & B music.
